About the position

The Procurement and Logistics Manager at Tenax TM LLC is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing all supplier-related activities and delivery functions within the company. This position requires a strategic mindset to develop and execute project and process plans that align with the company's objectives. The manager will implement policies and procedures, set operational goals, and acquire necessary resources for various projects and processes. A key aspect of this role is providing technical management of suppliers and leading process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in procurement and logistics operations. In addition to managing supplier relationships, the Procurement and Logistics Manager will cultivate partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports. This role demands a proactive approach to sourcing, negotiating, and securing high-quality materials, equipment, and services at optimal costs. The manager will ensure that goods and services are delivered promptly in accordance with project timelines, while also monitoring and assessing supplier performance to implement necessary enhancements. Logistics management is another critical component of this position. The manager will supervise the transportation and distribution of materials, equipment, and resources across various project sites. This includes optimizing the logistics network to minimize lead times, reduce costs, and improve delivery efficiency. The role also involves coordinating shipments, customs clearance, and ensuring compliance with local and international regulations. Addressing logistics issues such as delays and damages in a timely and efficient manner is essential. Inventory control is a significant responsibility as well. The Procurement and Logistics Manager will maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records, establish and enforce inventory management policies, and conduct regular inventory cycle counts. Anticipating future inventory needs based on project schedules and historical data is crucial, as is leading annual inventory audits to ensure optimal stock levels while minimizing excess inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Devise and execute effective procurement strategies and policies in alignment with Company objectives.
  • Source, negotiate, and cultivate relationships with suppliers to secure high-quality materials, equipment, and services at optimal costs.
  • Ensure prompt delivery of goods and services in accordance with project timelines.
  • Monitor and assess supplier performance, implementing enhancements as required.
  • Supervise the transportation and distribution of materials, equipment, and resources across project sites.
  • Optimize the logistics network to minimize lead times, decrease costs, and improve delivery efficiency.
  • Coordinate shipments, customs clearance, and compliance with local and international regulations.
  • Address logistics issues such as delays and damages promptly and efficiently.
  • Assess import/export regulations, selection of freight forwarders and shipping agencies to successfully and timely move material and equipment to remote, austere locations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records.
  • Establish and enforce inventory management policies to minimize excess inventory while ensuring adequate stock levels.
  • Conduct regular inventory cycle counts and manage stock rotation to minimize obsolete inventory.
  • Anticipate future inventory needs based on project schedules and historical data, leading annual inventory audits.
