About the position

The Procurement Business Specialist at the Department of Commerce plays a crucial role in advising leadership on acquisition systems related to contractor past performance. This position involves planning, developing, and implementing training for the agency's acquisition workforce, as well as representing the agency on various committees and managing organizational initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Advise the Director and OAAM leadership on acquisition systems related to past performance.
• Plan, develop, implement, and train the agency's acquisition workforce on contractor past performance programs and closeout functions.
• Represent the agency on department-level committees, work groups, and boards regarding contractor performance system-related topics.
• Manage a wide variety of organizational initiatives.
• Act as a liaison to departmental, internal, and external workgroups.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level, specifically in conducting contract closeout in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
• Experience in collaborating and training stakeholders regarding contractor past performance processes and procedures.
