About the position
The Procurement Director, Capital & Indirects at HealthTrust Europe is a pivotal role responsible for managing a diverse portfolio within the healthcare sector. This position involves negotiating national agreements, ensuring competitive pricing, and optimizing contract terms for various categories including Indirects, MRO, Medical Capital Equipment, and Transportation. The role requires collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders, including private equity members, to drive cost-saving initiatives and enhance procurement strategies.
Responsibilities
- Manage categories including Indirects, MRO, Medical Capital Equipment, and Transportation.
- Negotiate national agreements to ensure best-in-class pricing and contract terms.
- Conduct thorough market research and prepare bids, RFIs, and RFPs.
- Develop and validate sourcing strategies for assigned categories.
- Present category strategies and final awards to internal stakeholders.
- Utilize advanced negotiation skills to address objections and challenges.
- Delegate tasks effectively and support team development.
- Interpret supplier reports and discuss future product pipelines with suppliers.
- Develop contract strategies and manage risks associated with sourcing initiatives.
Requirements
- 5 years of procurement experience with a proven track record of delivery against targets.
- Line management experience.
- Experience in strategic sourcing and category management.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Supplier relationship management and project management experience.
- Proficient in e-Procurement systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Nice-to-haves
- Understanding of Group Purchasing Organisations.
- Membership or training to be a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
