About the position

The Procurement Manager II at McCormick is responsible for managing assigned categories and developing strategies to optimize costs while mitigating risks. This role involves leading negotiations for procured materials and services, ensuring the best total cost of ownership (TCO), and supporting both direct and indirect spending. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet project objectives and enhance customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement for assigned categories globally.
  • Lead negotiations of procured materials and services to achieve optimal TCO (Cost, Quality, Delivery, Innovation).
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure the lowest overall cost while mitigating risk.
  • Document in-depth knowledge of markets, supply chain, and suppliers.
  • Assist with make vs. buy decisions and conduct supplier reviews.
  • Participate in planning and forecasting processes to establish standard costs and explain price variances.
  • Promote high levels of customer satisfaction in supporting divisional projects and purchasing guidance.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to meet project objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Accounting or applicable field of study.
  • 7+ years in Purchasing/Supply Chain environment with appropriate business experience.
  • 4+ years project management experience, including execution of large, cross-functional projects.
  • 3+ years managing and developing dynamic work teams.
  • Proven experience in major cost savings initiatives.
  • Thorough knowledge of industries for assigned categories.
  • Technical awareness in assigned categories.
  • Ability to assess and analyze moderately complex business opportunities.
  • Strong communication and diplomacy skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or other equivalent Master's Degree in relevant field.
  • CPM or APICS certification.
