About the position

The Procurement Manager for Production Equipment at CRH's Americas Materials division plays a crucial role in driving cost reductions and managing supplier relationships to enhance the company's profitability and competitive edge. This position is based anywhere within the South Division and is responsible for overseeing spend categories related to production equipment. The manager will implement category-related decisions regarding products and services at a local level, ensuring that local business requirements are integrated into the overall category strategy. As a member of the regional category team, the Procurement Manager will utilize the category management process to develop strategies, execute tenders, and establish effective supply programs, ensuring the success of these initiatives. In this role, the Procurement Manager will act as the primary contact for the business regarding production equipment, accountable for procurement KPI performance management and adherence to processes within their area of responsibility. The manager will ensure that products and services are procured in the most cost- and time-efficient manner, implementing best practices in purchasing. They will also serve as an escalation point for unresolved claims and will be responsible for executing the RFX and tactical processes, including negotiations for smaller or single-country categories. The role requires alignment with division stakeholders and adherence to market and global procurement strategies, while maintaining strategic relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders in the production equipment sector. The Procurement Manager will analyze supply markets, anticipate changes, and drive procurement activities accordingly. They will evaluate contracts and suppliers to facilitate informed decisions regarding the supplier base, coordinating the implementation of category and supplier strategies within the division. This position demands a well-rounded procurement professional with strong business acumen, capable of leading and executing the divisional category management agenda while fostering collaboration with both the business and regional procurement teams.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the representative and lead category manager for own and other CRH product-group organizations.
  • Serve as the primary category contact for the business in the Production Equipment aspects of the organization.
  • Accountable for procurement KPI performance management and process adherence in the division.
  • Ensure products and services are purchased in the most cost- and time-efficient manner, implementing purchasing best practices.
  • Act as escalation for claims not solved locally.
  • Execute the category strategy locally and ensure its implementation.
  • Execute the RFX and tactical process including negotiation for smaller or single-country categories.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain the division procurement strategy and Project Procurement Plans.
  • Align with division stakeholders as well as market and global procurement strategies.
  • Maintain strategic relationships with key division suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with Production Equipment stakeholders.
  • Analyze supply market, anticipate changes, and drive associated procurement activities.
  • Evaluate contracts and suppliers to facilitate final supplier base decisions with relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate category and supplier strategy implementation in the division.

Requirements

  • Educated with a Technical or Business Degree.
  • 5+ years of Strategic Sourcing experience preferred.
  • Experience in working with category management in a multi-country organization.
  • Experience in managing Production Equipment & Maintenance & Production Services vendors, preferably in the mining and construction field.
  • Fluent written and verbal English is a must; other languages are considered a plus.
  • Willingness to cooperate in international projects.
