About the position

The Procurement Project Coordinator at TerraPower will focus on managing project activities within the Natrium Procurement area, ensuring effective coordination between procurement groups and engineering teams. This role involves overseeing budget and schedule management for advanced nuclear reactor projects, facilitating communication among stakeholders, and utilizing project management tools to track progress and resource allocation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage modifications to the Natrium schedule in collaboration with Procurement Group Management.
  • Initiate and facilitate change process approvals for new procurement activities.
  • Align and manage breakdown of procurements into detailed activity schedules.
  • Verify and track team assignments within the schedule and manage resource levelization.
  • Communicate and coordinate with stakeholders to track requests to procurement management.
  • Develop and manage standard procurement activity sequences for future design phases.
  • Manage detailed schedule logic tie interfaces for procurement activities and external design teams.
  • Create and track milestones alignment to task activities.
  • Provide periodic status updates to project leadership and identify resource allocation shortfalls.
  • Analyze and report on Procurement earned value metrics to management, including schedule and cost performance.
  • Facilitate procurement schedule activities through regular review meetings.
  • Lead planning efforts using project management tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Power BI.
  • Interface with engineering groups to identify necessary predecessors and successors for schedule activities.
  • Assist in Supply Chain development by facilitating new supplier meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university.
  • 5+ years of engineering work experience with proven project coordination or project management experience, preferably in nuclear projects.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and build positive working relationships.
  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design of complex mechanical systems, structures, and equipment.
  • Previous experience with power plants, procurements, or complex systems.
  • Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or Jira.
  • Attention to detail and aspiration for technical and project performance excellence.
  • Ability to handle projects with competing objectives and design constraints.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working to quality standards on design activities, such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001.
  • Self-starter with the ability to drive a project schedule with minimal direction.
