About the position

The Procurement Specialist at Abbott plays a crucial role in supporting the Global Purchasing Services (GPS) Business Excellence team by implementing best practices and Source-to-Pay strategies. This position involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to enhance procurement processes, improve customer service, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires a solid understanding of procurement strategies and the ability to work effectively across multiple categories.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Supplier Enablement team to invite and qualify/disqualify suppliers in SAP Ariba.
  • Support the Source-to-Pay process with technology design and enhancements related to supplier qualification/disqualification.
  • Assist the GPS catalog lead and category teams in identifying, developing, and implementing future catalog opportunities.
  • Provide analytical and execution support via reporting to category teams for supplier rationalization and performance management activities.
  • Drive a defined supplier qualification/disqualification process flow globally as Ariba expands.
  • Continuously explore creative solutions to enhance procurement processes and boost customer service standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply-Chain, Business, or Financial Degree.
  • 2-4 years of Procurement experience.
  • Understanding of Source to Pay technology and processes like SAP Ariba.

  • Functional experience in Procurement or other functions such as Finance.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Self-Starter with proficiency in Analytics & reporting using Power BI/MS Excel/Smartsheet/QlikView.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong interdisciplinary, intercultural, influence, and networking skills.
  • Source to Pay Technology Experience.
