About the position

The Procurement Specialist plays a vital role in the Supply Chain Team at Tower Labs, focusing on the procurement and management of materials, supplies, and inventory for production sites. This position is responsible for determining stocking levels, qualifying suppliers, reducing costs, and enhancing inventory turnover while fostering strong vendor relationships to support the company's growth objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Identify raw material requirements from product specifications, production schedules, and forecasts.
  • Set procurement plans, monitor inventory levels, and manage reserves to ensure continuous production.
  • Resolve material availability issues and communicate plans to the cross-functional team.
  • Prepare and administer purchase orders with specific vendors to meet production needs.
  • Monitor and confirm the accuracy of terms and delivery dates, providing follow-up as needed.
  • Track and maintain inventory levels in collaboration with production planning.
  • Review cost and pricing information for raw materials and track changes.
  • Review or negotiate contracts for raw materials with current or potential vendors.
  • Monitor changes in the availability of raw materials and build relationships with qualified vendors.
  • Work with QA to qualify new vendors based on GMP standards.
  • Compare bids from vendors and assist in determining new vendors.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals to ensure all requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with R&D for strategic sourcing of new materials for product development.
  • Identify and coordinate the qualification of alternate suppliers to minimize single sourcing problems.
  • Work with Sales and Planning to understand forecasts and apply that information to procurement activities.
  • Evaluate and review invoices for accuracy in alignment with Accounting requirements.
  • Maintain a database regarding vendors' performance and product quality.
  • Issue material complaints and resolutions as necessary.
  • Participate in the planning process for manufacturing as needed.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of GMP manufacturing and standards is a plus.
  • Understanding of the vendor contract process.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent administrative skills.
  • Understanding of the manufacturing process.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or 3 years of relevant experience.
