About the position

This non-supervisory role focuses on the procurement and acquisition of goods and services for MPW and its affiliates, aiming to deliver immediate sourcing value while enhancing processes and driving efficiency. The position involves collaboration with business units to advise on the acquisition of goods and services of varying complexity, supporting the Strategic Sourcing Team to ensure alignment with business plans and sourcing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Help build operational, tactical, and strategic procurement capabilities including spend and opportunity analytics, strategic sourcing, and market intelligence.
  • Maintain close relationships with key business stakeholders to understand requirements and lead procurement efforts from requisition to payment.
  • Support the Procurement Department's vision in developing a procurement process with supporting tools.
  • Manage supplier relationships to drive continuous improvement across various spend categories.
  • Maintain category profile information including supplier performance and spend profile.
  • Contribute to the automation of routine tasks and continuous process improvement.
  • Support the sourcing process by extracting and analyzing data to improve commercial decisions.
  • Work closely with Accounts Payable to ensure Early Payment Discounts are realized and suppliers are invoicing correctly.
  • Support data requests from the Director of Procurement and Leadership.
  • Report savings methodologies and calculations.
  • Complete various reports using Microsoft Excel, JD Edwards, or Business Objects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Information Technology, or relevant work history.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a related field.
  • Experience in Procurement preferred, but not required.
  • Attention to detail and proficient problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently multi-task.
  • Strong analytical and data management skills.
  • Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft applications and ERP environments (JD Edwards is beneficial).
  • Resourceful, driven, self-accountable, and flexible in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong communication skills - listening, verbal, written, and presentation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Procurement is preferred but not required.
  • Exposure to different cultures and adverse environments.
