About the position
The Procurement Sr. Specialist I is a senior role focused on managing projects to support electrification initiatives within Honda's parts division. This position involves working with stressed suppliers to ensure the availability of service parts, developing project plans, and coordinating activities across multiple departments. The role requires strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively to minimize customer impact.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects related to electrification and new technology initiatives.
- Manage stressed supplier activities to ensure continuous supply to customers.
- Review and provide disposition to Obsolete Tooling Disposition Requests (OTDRs).
- Coordinate noncurrent tooling moves to ensure compliance with processes for crossing the border into Mexico.
- Report situation findings and resolutions to necessary parties regularly.
Requirements
- BS/BA in Engineering, Business, or equivalent work experience.
- Five plus years of supply chain experience with a solid understanding of Honda's supply base.
- Understanding of auto parts manufacturing processes such as casting, machining, stamping, and molding.
- Strong negotiation skills and financial acumen.
- Excellent prioritization and time management skills.
- Project management experience.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to plan for three or more years.
- Technical skills including drawing interpretation and knowledge of supplier production processes.
