About the position

Exciting new initiatives in an advanced procurement management system has made room for a Procurement Systems Analyst in SUNY Oneonta's Office of Business Services. The Analyst will assist in analyzing current data and developing new processes for the implementation. This position will act as one of the projects leads and will be responsible for managing and optimizing the procurement system and processes. This role involves analyzing procurement data, implementing system improvements, and ensuring the effective use of procurement technology. The Analyst will work closely with University staff, SUNY partners, and software vendors to ensure optimum system functionality and to streamline procurement operations. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team, committed to serving the members of the University community, our students, and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Review current procurement processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies and propose potential improvements
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on integrating new procurement systems with other existing business systems
  • Test new features, upgrades, and integrations to ensure they meet business requirements and function correctly
  • Provide support and training to end users on procurement systems and processes
  • Gather and analyze procurement data to ensure compliance with procurement policies and identify opportunities for strengthening processes
  • Develop and generate regular and ad-hoc reports on procurement activities, performance metrics, and system usage to be used for decision making purposes
  • Contribute to the overall support of the Procurement Office including office coverage, customer service, data entry, record keeping, trainings, document review, and fiscal year end/start operations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Two years of professional work experience
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Strong Customer service experience

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with procurement software
  • Experience with project management principles and tools is a plus
  • Experience with NYS and SUNY Procurement policies and procedures
  • Experience working with or serving diverse populations.
