About the position

The Procurement Systems Analyst & User Support role at Wacker Chemical Corporation is a pivotal position within the Procurement Excellence (PL-X) organization, specifically tailored for the Americas region. This role is designed to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of procurement processes through continuous improvement initiatives, data analytics, and supplier management. The successful candidate will work closely with the Global PL-X team to implement and optimize systems and processes that drive procurement excellence. The position encompasses several key areas of responsibility. Firstly, it focuses on 'Efficiency', which involves the continuous improvement of procurement systems and processes through effective implementation, optimization, and change management. Secondly, the role emphasizes 'Analytics & Reporting', where the analyst will promote data-driven decision-making within the procurement organization by providing timely and relevant information, including management and statutory reporting. Additionally, the role includes 'Supplier & Sustainability Management', where the analyst will oversee processes related to supplier management, sustainability initiatives, and quality management, ensuring compliance with Integrated Management Systems (IMS). As the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for procurement systems such as SAP, Ariba, and BuyNow, the analyst will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving challenges faced by suppliers in their day-to-day operations. This includes collaborating with both internal and external technical teams to configure Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) integrations between SAP and Ariba. The analyst will also develop and present training programs aimed at enhancing the performance and utilization of procurement systems across the Americas. Monitoring and analyzing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to procurement systems will be a critical aspect of the role, as will advocating for the needs of the Americas PL organization within the Global PL-X team. The analyst will lead process improvement projects that may extend beyond the procurement function, impacting various business units involved in the Purchase to Pay cycle. Furthermore, the analyst will represent WACKER in the North American TfS (Together for Sustainability) initiative, contributing to sustainability efforts and hosting annual team meetings. Overall, this role is integral to driving procurement excellence at WACKER, ensuring that the organization remains at the forefront of innovation and efficiency in its procurement practices.

Responsibilities

  • Support all aspects of WACKER's Procurement Excellence (PL-X) organization in the Americas.
  • Focus on continuous improvement of systems and processes in the Procurement organization.
  • Promote data-based decisions in Procurement through analytics and reporting.
  • Provide timely information and management reporting to the Procurement organization.
  • Manage supplier, sustainability, and quality processes, including IMS management.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SAP, Ariba, BuyNow, and other procurement systems.
  • Investigate and resolve challenges encountered by suppliers in day-to-day operations of procurement systems.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to configure EDI integrations between SAP and Ariba.
  • Develop and present training to improve the performance and utilization of procurement systems.
  • Monitor and analyze performance KPIs related to procurement systems and address any gaps.
  • Advocate for the needs of the Americas PL organization within the Global PL-X team.
  • Lead and represent PL-X in process improvement projects across various business units.
  • Participate in the North American TfS initiative and host annual team meetings.
  • Execute data analyses and prepare reports for KPI performance in WACKER Americas Procurement.
  • Facilitate and lead topics in the New Employee Onboarding Process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, computer science, or natural sciences (mathematics, computer science, physics, chemistry).
  • 2+ years of professional working experience.
  • Proven power user experience in system implementation projects.
  • Successful project management experience in a lead role.
