About the position

The Procurement Systems Analyst at SUNY Oneonta will play a crucial role in enhancing the procurement management system. This position involves analyzing current procurement data, developing new processes, and managing system improvements to optimize procurement operations. The Analyst will collaborate with various stakeholders, including university staff and software vendors, to ensure effective use of procurement technology and streamline operations.

Responsibilities

  • Review current procurement processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies and propose potential improvements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on integrating new procurement systems with other existing business systems.
  • Test new features, upgrades, and integrations to ensure they meet business requirements and function correctly.
  • Provide support and training to end users on procurement systems and processes.
  • Gather and analyze procurement data to ensure compliance with procurement policies and identify opportunities for strengthening processes.
  • Develop and generate regular and ad-hoc reports on procurement activities, performance metrics, and system usage to be used for decision making purposes.
  • Contribute to the overall support of the Procurement Office including office coverage, customer service, data entry, record keeping, trainings, document review, and fiscal year end/start operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Two years of professional work experience
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Strong customer service experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with procurement software
  • Experience with project management principles and tools is a plus
  • Experience with NYS and SUNY Procurement policies and procedures
  • Experience working with or serving diverse populations.
