The Procurement Technician position at the Defense Contract Management Agency in Melbourne, FL, is responsible for providing technical and administrative support in the procurement process. The technician plays a crucial role in achieving agency performance indicators related to contract closeouts and managing contractor performance data.

Responsibilities

  • Notifies the Administrative Contracting Officer (ACO) of required input forms and procedures for contract actions.
  • Assists contracts personnel in resolving issues with Trusted Agent function workload and contract closings.
  • Influences the achievement of Agency Level Performance Indicators associated with Contract Closeout and Canceling Funds.
  • Maintains contact with customers and contractors to resolve difficulties related to scheduling deliveries and contract terms.
  • Conducts preliminary reviews of documents and identifies discrepancies for the Contract Administrator/ACO.
  • Establishes and maintains databases to ensure contract data reflects contractor performance accurately.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in contracting support, including updating and verifying contract documents.
  • Experience in resolving contract content and formatting issues to support contract closeout actions.
  • Proficiency in inputting data into automated procurement databases for statistical reporting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and contractors regarding contract terms.
