About the position

The Production Operator, Manufacturing at FedEx Office plays a crucial role in the operational efficiency of the center. This position requires the individual to perform a variety of functions, which include operating a wide range of equipment, moving boxes and equipment, and utilizing computers and computerized systems. The operator is responsible for writing and filling out forms, sorting and collating papers, and following detailed instructions from supervisors. Effective communication with team members is essential, particularly in the Digital and Signs & Graphics environment. The primary focus of this role is to participate in the production of Signs & Graphics print and finish orders according to customer specifications, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. Additionally, the Production Operator is tasked with maintaining the Digital production area and its equipment, ensuring that everything is in optimal working condition. In this role, the operator will be expected to process and produce Digital and Signs & Graphics print and finish orders as requested or directed. This includes operating various printers, binding machines, and other auxiliary equipment. The operator will also be responsible for all phases of equipment setup, operation, and routine maintenance, which includes cleaning and repairing equipment as necessary. Providing excellent customer service is a key component of this position, as the operator will need to solve problems and meet customer needs with minimal supervision. The operator will produce work in accordance with LEAN manufacturing principles, which emphasizes quality results delivered on time. Following supervisors' instructions and assisting other team members in performing center functions is also part of the job. Maintaining the work area to 5S standards is essential, as is the ability to perform any other duties as needed or required.

Responsibilities

  • Process and produce Digital and Signs & Graphics print/finish orders as requested and/or directed
  • Operate Digital and Signs & Graphics printers, binding and other auxiliary equipment
  • Perform all phases of equipment set-up, operation and routine maintenance
  • Maintain equipment and supplies, to include cleaning and repairing
  • Provide customer service, including problem solving, to satisfy those needs with a minimum amount of supervision
  • Produce work in accordance with LEAN manufacturing principles to enable Done Right On Time quality results
  • Follow instructions of supervisors and assist other team members in performing center functions
  • Maintain work area to 5S standards
  • Perform all other duties as needed or required

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • 6+ months of related experience preferred
  • Prior experience of FXO products & services offerings preferred
  • Commercial print environment experience preferred
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
