The Produce Clerk will also be involved in receiving products, pricing, marking, and restocking to maintain product quality and rotation. Training and mentoring other department teammates is also a part of the job, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. The Produce Clerk will work closely with the Produce Manager and other teammates, maintaining open lines of communication to address any issues or inefficiencies. Responsibilities

• Assist the Produce Manager in all aspects of the produce department.
• Control the level of damaged and spoiled/out of date products and ensure proper disposition according to company policy.
• Communicate and coordinate with the Produce Manager.
• Follow approved procedures for receiving product, pricing, marking, and restocking cases to ensure quality protection, accuracy, and product rotation.
• Implement and follow the department merchandising plan.
• Assist in training department teammates.
• Maintain signs, pricing, refrigerated cases, and display shelves by performing scheduled inspections.
• Comply with department compliance of company policies, programs, procedures, and guidelines.
• Maintain a safe work environment for teammates and customers.
• Interact constantly with customers and teammates to ensure understanding of expectations.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of various types of produce products.
• Ability to operate produce department equipment.
• Good customer relations skills.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Ability to calculate gross margins and retail prices.
• Ability to manage effectively.
