The Produce Clerk will be responsible for cleaning, trimming, packaging, processing, rotating, and stocking produce, ensuring that all products meet the company's quality standards. The role requires a proactive approach to customer engagement, where the clerk will assist customers in selecting products, share product knowledge, and adapt service based on customer needs. The Produce Clerk will also be involved in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the produce department, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and contributing to a positive work environment. In addition to the core responsibilities, the Produce Clerk will prepare the department for store opening and closing, handle damaged or spoiled products according to company policy, and communicate any issues to management. The position requires adherence to safety and sanitation standards, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment. The Produce Clerk will also be expected to maintain accurate pricing and signage, comply with organic standards, and stay informed about current promotions and events. Responsibilities

• Cleans, trims, packages, processes, rotates and stocks produce.
• Provides exceptional customer service and contributes to a positive team environment.
• Engages customers in a friendly manner and assists in locating products throughout the store.
• Prepares the Produce department for store opening and closing.
• Shares product knowledge with customers and makes recommendations based on their needs.
• Builds displays and arranges department products attractively.
• Stocks, rotates, and faces products with attention to quality and expiration dates.
• Handles damaged and spoiled products according to company policy.
• Receives and unloads merchandise, checking quality, count, and condition.
• Maintains cleanliness, organization, and rotation of all areas, products, and supplies.

Requirements

• Valid Food Handler Certification.
• Previous customer service, food service, retail, or grocery experience preferred.
• Basic math and computation skills required.
• Ability to manage difficult customer interactions preferred.
• Self-motivated with high attention to detail, quality, and presentation.
• Ability to reliably meet required work schedule and adhere to company attendance policy.

• Previous produce experience in a retail, farm, or distribution environment preferred.
