About the position

The Produce Department Lead at Grocery Outlet is responsible for managing the produce section, ensuring product freshness, proper labeling, and excellent customer service. This role involves ordering, receiving, and merchandising produce, as well as assisting with cashiering and other tasks as needed. The position emphasizes teamwork and community engagement within a small, locally owned grocery store environment.

Responsibilities

• Order and work produce loads received four times a week.
• Receive loads, break down pallets, and organize product for shelves.
• Ensure product freshness by rotating and culling daily.
• Label and price products on shelves, executing price changes as necessary.
• Execute markdowns and throwaways when necessary.
• Lift and organize boxes and bales weighing up to 50lbs.
• Merchandise products on the sales floor by integrating new products into existing displays.
• Provide excellent customer service by being professional, friendly, efficient, and personal.
• Assist with cashiering and other courtesy calls as needed.
• Contribute to team efforts by helping with various tasks as required.
