About the position
The Produce Helper at Food City is responsible for providing excellent customer service while assisting in the management of the produce department. This part-time role focuses on maintaining product quality, cleanliness, and a positive shopping experience for customers. The position requires teamwork and flexibility to support the store's mission of running the best store in town.
Responsibilities
- Ensure efficient and courteous customer service at all times.
- Maintain a positive attitude and create a friendly atmosphere through teamwork.
- Assist the produce manager in ordering, receiving, and displaying products.
- Rotate merchandise to ensure freshness and quality.
- Clean the department according to company standards.
- Shock all green leaf vegetables and assist in unloading trucks.
- Core pineapples and follow the company food safety program.
- Keep workstation and surrounding area neat and clean.
- Sanitize and clean the department at least twice a day.
- Attend on-site work during scheduled shifts.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to meet standard physical, mental, and visual demands.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions.
- Ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks with constant interaction with various individuals.
