About the position

Toyota's TFS Accounting Department is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Product Accounting Senior Analyst. This role is crucial in ensuring the accurate and timely preparation and delivery of financial results in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS. The successful candidate will support both department and company-wide initiatives aimed at developing the business and enhancing internal capabilities. The position requires a strong commitment to maintaining effective internal controls and thorough procedural documentation, as well as coordinating internal and external audit requests. The Product Accounting Senior Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that all daily and monthly accounting activities are completed efficiently. This includes the timely preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations. The analyst will also compile financial statements for the Puerto Rican entity and manage governmental reporting to the Puerto Rican government. A deep understanding of US GAAP is essential, along with the ability to implement new accounting guidance as necessary. In addition to these responsibilities, the analyst will participate in the financial reporting process, preparing quarterly and annual financial statements, and submitting quarterly reports to Japan. The role also involves supporting key company and department initiatives, proposing and implementing improvements to existing analyses, and developing additional analyses and activity metrics to meet evolving business needs. Furthermore, the analyst will provide training and support for other team members, either through direct assignments or indirect team leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all daily and month accounting activities are completed
  • Perform timely preparation and/or review of journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Maintain and operate effective internal controls and thorough procedural documentation
  • Coordinate internal and external audit requests
  • Compile financial statements for the Puerto Rican entity and manage governmental reporting to the Puerto Rican government
  • Understand and apply US GAAP and implement new accounting guidance when necessary
  • Participate in the financial reporting process for preparing quarterly and annual financial statements and quarterly submissions to Japan
  • Support key company and department initiatives
  • Propose and implement improvements to existing analyses and develop additional analyses and activity metrics to meet changing business and informational needs
  • Provide training, development, and support for other team members, either through direct assignment or indirect team leadership

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other analytical degree with equivalent work experience
  • Public accounting experience, preferably Big 4
  • Experience in accounting financial reporting, or other relevant experience with progressively increasing responsibilities
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills in closing process gaps and resolving issues
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and advanced functionality
  • Demonstrated aptitude with a desire to learn and apply emerging technologies
