About the position

The Hardware Product Analyst at Tyler Technologies is responsible for enhancing the company's hardware solutions for school transportation management. This role involves researching and testing hardware components, negotiating with manufacturers, and providing support to internal teams and clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hardware engineering and a passion for technology innovation.

Responsibilities

• Research, identify, and test suitable mounting solutions, cradles, and tablets for installation in school buses and alternate vehicles.
• Assess product validity using internal and external benchmarks via engineering assessments and product quality tests.
• Negotiate with manufacturers and fulfillment partners to secure favorable prices and terms for hardware purchases.
• Act as the point of contact for sales and operations, providing guidance on hardware-related issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues in a timely manner.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation on hardware installation and maintenance procedures.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful hardware implementation.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to hardware components.
• Occasional travel to client sites and tradeshows required.
• Continuously research and keep up-to-date with emerging trends in technology and market demands.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in hardware engineering, focusing on hardware support and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of hardware components and systems, including microcontrollers and wireless communication technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills for troubleshooting complex hardware issues.
• Proven track record of managing hardware-related projects from conception to completion.
• Strong ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of vehicle and transportation industry standards and regulations is a plus.
