The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Product Analyst, Health IT Data based out of our National Center office. This position can be home based. The Product Analyst will be responsible for activities related to supporting the American Heart Association Health-IT team with quality-checking, maintaining, and enhancing the Get With the Guidelines registry and providing operational support for the initiatives that use the Registry. Core Get With the Guideline initiatives include Stroke, CAD, HF, AFib, Resuscitation, and Cardiogenic Shock. The role may also have supporting responsibilities for special funded initiatives related to quality improvement for cardiovascular disease. Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Sr. Product Managers and the National Director for Health-IT to ensure site and user configuration in the registry platform.
  • Provide the organization QI/BD staff with supporting registry resources.
  • Track projects and provide administrative support to external and internal users.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses in Excel to evaluate progress.
  • Support Sr. Product Manager in developing technological specifications for the Get With the Guidelines Registries and other software products that use inpatient clinical data.
  • Quality-check the product and report defects or desired changes to the software vendor.
  • Coordinate with software vendor to track ongoing work and deployments.
  • Communicate enhancements and bug fixes to internal teams and external end-users.
  • Perform ad-hoc Excel analyses using high-volume clinical or programmatic datasets to support internal program evaluation and external presentations.
  • Work closely with the Sr. Product Manager to hone the analysis scope, parameters, and approach.
  • Maintain critical data entry, such as adding new users and processing new registrants for core initiatives.
  • Support the QI/BD staff with site onboarding and provide administrative support where needed.
  • Work to understand the algorithms behind the clinical quality metrics in the Get With the Guideline Registry and review their functionality through regular testing.
  • Coordinate with the Sr. Product Manager, Quality Measures team, and end-users to ensure these metrics function accurately.
  • Support the Sr. Product Manager in developing staff and customer webinars related to assigned projects.
  • Act as project lead for assigned registry projects and pilots.
  • Coordinate and support custom programs or data analytics projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least two (2) years of relevant experience
  • Experience working in public health, healthcare, inpatient quality improvement, or related field
  • Experience in project coordination
  • Intermediate Excel skills (XLOOKUPs, creating graphs, IF formulas)
  • Ability to understand, interpret and communicate clinical information, evaluate data, present findings, and comprehend new information with exceptional analytic capacity
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn new software and skills
  • Ability to independently manage multiple complex projects
  • Ability to effectively work with physician experts and scientific thought leaders
  • Knowledge of voluntary health organizations and experience in group process with the ability to resolve conflicts and gain consensus through mediation and collaboration
  • Ability to travel locally or overnight up to 10% - at least one in-person department staff meeting per year.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least two (2) years of experience with the organizations Get With the Guidelines registries
  • Ability to manage vendor deliverables
  • Ability to manage complex relationships with external partners and allied organizations
  • Experience in product lifecycle management, particularly with product maintenance and new product development
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
