About the position

The Product Analyst will work in the Product Development department of Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Company, a group that launches Homeowners products into new states and supports our existing business. This position is based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, but is temporarily remote. The Product Analyst will collaborate with product managers and various other departments to support homeowners product management, forms and manuals development, state filings, and other related projects. The role requires a strong focus on competitive research, compliance, and regulatory requirements, as well as the ability to analyze impacts and determine necessary action items. In this role, the Product Analyst will perform competitive research and create product offering comparison reports. They will also construct coverage forms, endorsements, manuals, and applications for both new and existing products. Preparing state rate/form/rule filings for new and existing Homeowners programs is a key responsibility, along with communicating product changes to other functional areas within the enterprise and assisting with product training. The analyst will develop IT requirements for the system implementation of product changes and perform system testing of rates and user interfaces. Additionally, they will design and maintain procedure and product documentation such as rate history and product specifications, and gather data to perform analysis in support of Underwriting, Product, and Actuarial teams. This position requires a proactive approach to learning and taking on new responsibilities, as well as the ability to multi-task on various projects while maintaining attention to detail and meeting target dates. The Product Analyst will be expected to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with advanced computer skills, particularly in MS Excel, and familiarity with SQL, VBA, MS Access, ISO, SERFF, and SNL.

Responsibilities

  • Perform competitive research and create product offering comparison report.
  • Research compliance and regulatory requirements, analyze the impact, determine action items, and follow up through the implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in P&C Personal Lines insurance products.
  • Strong research skills particularly in the area of insurance regulation.
  • Experience in constructing coverage forms, endorsements, and manuals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to multi-task on projects while being attentive to details and target dates.
  • Must be willing to learn new things and take on new responsibilities.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced computer skills including MS Excel; Knowledge of SQL, VBA, MS Access helpful.
  • Familiarity with ISO, SERFF, and SNL.
