About the position
The Insurance Underwriter for Habitational Real Estate Management Risks will be responsible for underwriting insurance policies specifically tailored for apartment buildings, hotels, motels, boarding houses, mobile home parks, and student housing. This role involves developing and maintaining relationships with both potential and existing producers to facilitate the underwriting process. The underwriter will be tasked with evaluating new and renewal business, ensuring that all policies and endorsements are complete and accurate, and addressing any policy-related issues that may arise. Additionally, the position requires the development of marketing strategies to promote the underwriting services offered by the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underwriting, particularly in the habitational sector, and will be adept at communicating effectively with various stakeholders to resolve issues and enhance business relationships.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite insurance for apartment buildings, hotels, and other habitational risks.
- Develop relationships with potential and existing producers.
- Underwrite new and renewal business.
- Communicate and solve policy and submission related issues.
- Verify completeness and accuracy of policies and endorsements.
- Develop marketing strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- 5-10 years of experience in insurance underwriting, specifically for habitational risks.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience as an Insurance Product Analyst or Developer.
- Knowledge of personal lines and personal auto insurance product design.
- Experience in market analysis and underwriting KPI development.
