About the position

The Product Analyst Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the Product Management team at AmesburyTruth, focusing on the life-cycle management of door hardware products. This internship is designed for individuals who are eager to gain hands-on experience in product analysis and management within a manufacturing environment. The intern will engage in various projects that require data analysis to facilitate quicker decision-making processes. Responsibilities will include reviewing historical product performance, analyzing product bills of materials, and conducting customer segmentation. The intern will also support the team in responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and enhancing data quality through projects such as product attribute assignment and general maintenance of business activities. In this role, the intern will assist in analyzing product data, which encompasses revenue, profit, demand, and market data, providing actionable recommendations based on their findings. They will review product Bills of Materials (BOMs) to identify overlaps and suggest simplifications to the product portfolio. Collaboration with product managers will be essential for assigning attributes to products and updating product hierarchy information. The intern will also respond to daily inquiries from the sales organization, aiding in new business opportunities and risk management, as well as providing pricing for RFQ inquiries. Additionally, the intern will act as a liaison between product management and marketing to ensure that product content on the website is current and accurate. Researching the competitive landscape, pricing, macro trends, and competitor and supplier activities will also be part of the responsibilities. The intern will assist in new product development projects, preparing for customer trials, and managing ongoing project statuses. Collaboration with marketing will be necessary to develop and update sales collateral and tools that promote AmesburyTruth's products. The intern will also support Product Management team members with special projects as needed, gaining a comprehensive understanding of product management in a manufacturing context.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in analyzing product data, including revenue, profit, demand, market data and provide recommendations
  • Review product Bill of Materials (BOMs) to determine where overlap exists and provide recommendations on where the portfolio can be simplified
  • Work with product manager team members to assign attributes to products and update product hierarchy information
  • Assist in responding to daily inquiries from the sales organization to support new business opportunities and risk management, as well as providing pricing to Request for Quote (RFQ) inquiries
  • Liaise between product management and marketing to update product content on the website
  • Research competitive landscape and/or pricing, macro trends, competitor and supplier
  • Assist in new product development (NPD) projects including prep for customer trials and manage ongoing status
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop & update door hardware collateral and sales tools to help drive awareness of AmesburyTruth's products
  • Assist Product Management team members with special projects as necessary

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of professional experience or pursuing a Bachelor's degree in general business or marketing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in working with project teams
  • Familiarity with or ability to interpret basic engineering bill of materials (BOMs) a plus
  • Successful track record of problem solving, idea generation, and project execution
  • Data analysis - ability to analyze data and recommend action based on the information
  • Cross-functional engagement - ability to manage projects involving stakeholders across multiple functions and facilities
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Focus on execution and delivery of results
