About the position

The Product Analyst in the Mortgage Domain is responsible for bridging the gap between business and technical teams, ensuring that product requirements are effectively translated into technical specifications. This role involves extensive interaction with stakeholders to gather requirements, design processes, and support the software development life cycle (SDLC) from inception to user acceptance testing. The analyst will leverage their mortgage industry experience to contribute to product-related decisions and enhance customer-centric practices within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Interface between business and technical teams to ensure clear communication and understanding of requirements.
  • Gather requirements and design process/data flows for mortgage-related projects.
  • Create technical specifications for web services and APIs based on business needs.
  • Translate business requirements into technical requirements and define project objectives.
  • Conduct feasibility analysis and support development, systems integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Create and document UAT strategies, plans, and test cases/scripts.
  • Write user stories that reflect both business-driven functionality and technical capabilities.
  • Provide constructive support to the Product Owner and IT team in product-related decisions.
  • Encourage a customer-centric mindset within the Modern Delivery team, focusing on advancing Freddie Mac's mission.
  • Collaborate with the Team Development Lead to create project/process specifications.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in the mortgage industry, preferably with Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae.
  • Proficient in requirement gathering and process/data flow design.
  • Experience in technical specification design, particularly for web services and APIs.
  • Solid understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Experience in defining project objectives and conducting feasibility analysis.
  • Knowledge of manual and automation testing processes.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
