About the position

As an Analyst in Nationwide's Property and Casualty team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Product Management team through detailed data analysis. This position focuses on gathering and analyzing data to identify issues and support resolution, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to innovate and simplify processes that enhance customer value. Your work will contribute to keeping existing products relevant and marketable, as well as developing new products to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Gathers information from multiple sources according to company guidelines to perform analysis.
  • Analyzes data from various business processes and applies judgment to develop effective recommendations.
  • Completes assigned analysis and tasks within established time and service standards.
  • Defines data sets, data sources, and assumptions needed to complete analysis.
  • Plans completion of assignments to meet agreed upon timelines and service level agreements.
  • Provides support to internal partners on technical issues as needed.
  • Communicates with internal and external business partners to request or provide information.
  • Builds and strengthens relationships with peers and internal partners to support ongoing assignments.
  • Participates in training classes, department, and company meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in insurance, actuarial science, mathematics, risk management, economics, finance, accounting, business administration or related field preferred.
  • One year of experience in property and casualty insurance or related area and experience with data analysis preferred.
  • Solid understanding of analytical tools and basic knowledge of core business functions.
  • Strong word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary to interact with internal and external contacts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Progress toward CPCU, AU CIC, INS ARM, actuarial exams or similar designations preferred.
