In this role, the Product Analyst Senior will be responsible for defining, maintaining, and prioritizing the product backlog, which includes epics, features, and user stories. The candidate will solve product-related problems, make informed decisions, and conduct trade-off analyses to ensure that business deliverables are met. They will draft key product objectives and results, develop strategies, and leverage data to inform business decisions. A strong understanding of the end-to-end customer experience and its integration is crucial, as is the ability to collaborate with stakeholders during the visioning and concept development phases of product creation. The Product Analyst Senior will also be tasked with ensuring that the development team focuses on delivering maximum value aligned with the product strategy. This includes drafting detailed specifications for product features, reviewing test plans, creating Sprint Release Plans, and monitoring development progress. The role requires leading planning and review meetings, providing feedback on development achievements, and training internal employees or external clients on new systems or procedures. The candidate will be expected to operate independently while also managing a team of Product Analysts, setting development priorities, and ensuring that product inputs are translated into well-defined requirements. Responsibilities

  • Define, maintain & prioritize backlog (epic/features/user stories) to guide the agile software development team.
  • Solve product related problems, make decisions, complete trade-off analysis to stay on track towards business deliverable commitments.
  • Draft product key objectives and results, strategies and apply the data for the product to make business decisions.
  • Possess a fundamental understanding of end-to-end customer experience integration and dependencies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders during the visioning and concept development of a product.
  • Ensure team focuses on those with a maximum value that are aligned with product strategy.
  • Draft & define appropriately detailed specifications for the product features, so they are clearly understood by the development & QA teams.
  • Understand product strategy, market, industry, and client goals.
  • Review and provide feedback on test plans to ensure application changes meet acceptance criteria.
  • Create Sprint Release Plans with scrum master, project managers & development teams.
  • Monitor the development progress and provide updates to stakeholders, as requested.
  • Lead planning and review meetings to communicate feedback on development achievements.
  • Train internal employees or external clients on changes, new systems, or new procedures.

Requirements

  • 7 - 12 years' experience in software product management or equivalent role.
  • Prior experience 5+ years in the payments or Banking industry, with demonstrable understanding of major trends in US Retirement, 401(k), Defined Contributions, Defined Benefit and Record Keeping.
  • Understanding of agile methodology, e.g. SAFe, with competence utilizing project management software tools (e.g. Rally) to write concise user stories to communicate with the Engineering and QA teams and to ensure feasibility.
  • Ability to operate independently and effectively, under the supervision of Product Managers.
  • Familiarity with managing a post-production launch to support the sales cycle, gauge performance.
  • A strong team player, comfortable collaborating with and coordinating the efforts of cross-functional colleagues.
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong will to win, ability to take ownership and desire to drive for optimal business results.
  • Ability to adapt to and embrace frequent change with a positive attitude.
  • A self-starter with a can-do attitude who can operate with minimal direct/daily supervision.
  • Ability to manage a team of Product Analysts along with her/his own product responsibilities, who will work in a hands-on capacity with agile development teams.
