About the position

The Product Analyst role at Pacific Investment Management Company LLC (PIMCO) involves working on various aspects of product management, including product positioning within PIMCO's global distribution network, vehicle design, competitor analysis, and pricing. The analyst will gather and analyze market trends and data, evaluate risk reports, and create customized client reports while educating clients on complex financial concepts.

Responsibilities

• Work on product positioning across PIMCO's global distribution network.
• Design and construct investment vehicles.
• Conduct competitor analysis and pricing.
• Gather, analyze, and discuss market trends and data with colleagues and clients.
• Analyze portfolio characteristics in the context of broader investment themes.
• Evaluate risk reports and perform attribution research.
• Conduct scenario analysis.
• Create customized client reports and respond to ad-hoc inquiries.
• Draft internal presentations and prepare client-servicing materials.
• Summarize and explain complex financial and economic concepts to educate clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience in portfolio investment research and quantitative analysis using tools such as Excel, Yieldbook, Point, Bloomberg, or similar.
• Experience in performing risk management and performance attribution analysis.
• Ability to produce market commentary, investment outlooks, and product analysis reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
• Experience in developing and maintaining mathematical and economic analysis materials to support business development.
• Experience operating as a product-specific resource for attribution programs and technology-related projects.
