In this role, the Product Analyst focuses on understanding market trends, technology capabilities, user needs, and the competitive landscape to guide the development of new software products or improvements to existing ones. This position represents product strategy and the voice of the customer to drive priorities. As a member of an Agile Scrum team, the Product Analyst collaborates with internal stakeholders and technical resources to ensure that product features align with user needs and market demands. Key outcomes for the Product Analyst include acting as the voice of the customer throughout all stages of software development. Responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders, including product managers, designers, and engineers, to define product requirements based on research findings and business goals. The Product Analyst leverages knowledge of software and business needs to align with the development team on solutions and test criteria, ensuring that software releases meet user acceptance criteria. Additionally, they establish metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of product features and enhancements, monitoring these metrics post-launch to assess performance and identify areas for improvement. The Product Analyst manages expectations with business stakeholders for the delivery of new capabilities, features, and functionalities, collaborates with project management to prioritize and maintain the product backlog, and participates in sprint planning sessions to determine the technical team's objectives for upcoming sprints. They document findings and insights in clear, accessible formats for the product team and communicate research results and recommendations to stakeholders, helping to shape strategic decisions. Finally, the Product Analyst acts as a point of escalation for software issues from customers, ensuring that customer needs are fulfilled and expectations of resolution are managed against the current backlog and resource bandwidth. They develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of agency service offerings and associated software, act as the primary contact point for receiving and resolving software issues reported by stakeholders, and collaborate with stakeholders and technical resources to determine the best solution for identified issues.
