About the position

The Product Application Engineer plays a crucial role in defining the strategy for selecting products and patterns that align with customer requirements and the company's systems. This position requires a deep understanding of customer needs, allowing the engineer to configure products effectively to meet those needs. The engineer is tasked with defining and maintaining the necessary information, structure, and accuracy of the product and pattern, ensuring that all aspects of product development are aligned with customer expectations and company standards. In this role, the engineer will conduct thorough market research to identify specific product requirements from customers. This involves outlining new product configurations and offerings that not only meet customer needs but also adhere to company guidelines. The engineer will assist and direct the product design process during the launch of new products, ensuring that all product characteristics are established and accurately input into the company's product information system. Additionally, the Product Application Engineer will be responsible for tracking customer feedback and coordinating any necessary product design changes to enhance product performance and improve company service. This role requires the creation and execution of improvements in the product design and development process, collaborating with various departments within the organization to enhance product quality, customer service, and overall satisfaction. Staying well-informed and compliant with the company's standards and operating procedures is essential for success in this position. Occasional domestic and international travel may be required to meet with customers or attend industry events.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough market research to understand specific product requirements of the customers
  • Outline new product configurations and offerings based on customer needs and company guidelines
  • Assist and direct the product design process during the launch of new products

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field
  • Knowledge of the Automotive industry and market trends
  • Automotive OEM work experience is required
  • Understanding of product development and product specifications
  • Organized and structured thinking
  • Methodic and detail-oriented
  • Energetic
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate with all levels of technical users and management
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to efficiently work with Microsoft Office and ERP systems
