SEL is seeking a talented and motivated Product Engineer in the Precise Time product group within Research and Development (R&D). In this role, you will support and expand a portfolio of time synchronization products. As a Product Application Engineer, your responsibilities will include developing roadmaps, advocating for customer needs while collaborating with cross-discipline engineers and managers to prioritize new features and products. You will define requirements for features and products that exceed market expectations, leveraging a strong understanding of customer needs. Additionally, you will conduct system-level validation and interoperability testing from the customer's perspective, focusing on quality assurance. Your role will also involve providing technical product support to both internal and external customers, ensuring they have the necessary resources and information to utilize our products effectively. You will prepare customer-facing product documentation, including datasheets, marketing/sales materials, instruction manuals, release notes, and service bulletins, with meticulous attention to detail. Furthermore, you will be responsible for delivering technical presentations to large groups, whether explaining complex concepts to customers, conducting training sessions, or presenting at industry events. Competitor analysis will be a key part of your responsibilities, as you will analyze competitor products and curate technical comparison reports. You will also define best practices by developing application notes and white papers that describe industry standards and practices. This position is ideal for someone who possesses a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, and has 2+ years of experience in time synchronization technologies, including GNSS, GPS, Precision Time Protocol (PTP), Network Time Protocol (NTP), and more. You should have strong writing, speaking, and presentation skills, and enjoy working with customers to understand and creatively solve their challenges. The role may require travel up to 5-10% for conferences, trade shows, sales meetings, and customer visits.
