About The Position
SEL is seeking a talented and motivated Product Engineer in the Precise Time product group within Research and Development (R&D). In this role, you will support and expand a portfolio of time synchronization products that are critical for protecting electric power assets and detecting anomalies. As a Product Application Engineer, you will be responsible for advocating for the customer while collaborating with cross-discipline engineers and managers to prioritize roadmaps for new features and products. Your work will involve defining requirements for features and products that exceed market expectations, leveraging a strong understanding of customer needs. You will also conduct system-level validation and interoperability testing from the customer's perspective, ensuring a focus on quality. In addition to technical responsibilities, you will provide technical product support to both internal and external customers, preparing customer-facing product documentation such as datasheets, marketing materials, instruction manuals, release notes, and service bulletins with meticulous attention to detail. You will have opportunities to present complex concepts to large groups, conduct training sessions, and present at industry events. Analyzing competitor products and curating technical comparison reports will also be part of your role, along with developing application notes and white papers that describe industry best practices. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with customers to understand and creatively solve their challenges.
