Product Applications Engineer, Data Center Liquid Cooling

About the position

Danfoss is looking in the Austin, TX area for an experienced, results-oriented Product Applications Engineer with technical expertise and industry knowledge of liquid cooling thermal management systems with a focus on hyperscale data centers - specifically, rack-based servers employing liquid cooling technologies. The Product Applications Engineer will act as the subject matter expert on single-phase and two-phase liquid cooling applications within hyperscale data centers providing technical & operational support, identifying product solutions to meet application requirements, and contributing to business development initiatives. The engineer will be responsible for a range of tasks from on-site customer support to market analysis, ensuring the delivery of high-value solutions and maintaining strong customer relationships. Responsibilities

• Act as the subject matter expert on all matters related to single phase and two-phase liquid cooling applications within hyperscale data centers, including primary and in-rack cooling solutions.
• Identify within and outside the team as a product and technical resource for other thermal management applications, i.e. electric vehicle and charging applications.
• Identify and drive new business opportunities - bringing value to our customers via smarter and energy efficient products and systems.
• Meet with data center partners on-site to review server platform functional requirements employing liquid cooling and identify product solutions and product gaps for their given system needs.
• Translate customer requirements into identifying existing products or to work with engineering on internal designs using existing company design standards.
• Establish BOMs, calculate component costs and establish selling prices within established guidelines.
• Perform competitive analysis to determine market price levels.
• Facilitate prototyping requirements, routing request through the organization and collaborating with manufacturing plants globally.
• Create and develop customer presentations, ROI (Return of Investment Analysis), Project submittals, MOPs (method of procedure) and any other technical information required by customers to ensure application support and ongoing business development wins.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (engineering discipline preferred, but business degree acceptable with demonstrated technical proficiency).
• 3+ years of experience with data center infrastructure design objectives, performance factors, and physical requirements.
• Preferred experience with single phase and two-phase liquid cooling applications.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree (engineering or business discipline).
• Experienced in reading and drafting drawings in CAD software, preferred in PRO-E.
• Trade group affiliation or familiarity (ASHRAE, AHRI, DOE, Energy Star, Open19, OCP).
