About the position

The Product Approval Analyst position at the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority involves identifying, reviewing, and examining alcoholic beverage applications, reports, and accounts. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and improving financial processes. The analyst will frequently interact with corporate officials, attorneys, suppliers, and the general public, contributing to the Authority's mission of responsible regulation and service in the alcoholic beverage sector.

Responsibilities

• Support key compliance initiatives and financial process improvement efforts.
• Document product franchise agreements, updates, and terminations.
• Analyze regulatory documentation to ensure compliance and reporting requirements are met.
• Approve product labels.
• Assist with Freedom of Information Act requests.
• Assist with special projects and process improvements.
• Document and test internal controls.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience documenting processes and desktop procedures.
• Understanding of compliance requirements and auditing systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently.
• Effective customer service skills.
• Ability to organize workloads and meet deadlines.
• Experience using various computer systems including spreadsheets and access databases.
