About the position

The Product Compliance Manager at Room & Board plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing product compliance programs that align with the company's commitment to sustainability and safety. This position is responsible for developing and advancing the product compliance and safety program, ensuring that all products meet regulatory requirements within the home furnishings industry. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to drive compliance initiatives and enhance understanding of product safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and advancement of the product compliance and safety program.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to drive a product compliance program that meets regulatory requirements.
  • Build and refine a robust product compliance program, including category-specific guidelines and improved internal processes.
  • Lead strategic initiatives to drive operational excellence in compliance programs.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive program that adheres to federal, state, and local compliance and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and analyze compliance metrics to ensure effectiveness.
  • Provide expert guidance on compliance legislation, including Prop 65 and BIFMA standards.
  • Craft communication strategies to educate and inspire partners on compliance safety topics.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of annual training plans.
  • Implement strategies to help stakeholders navigate the evolving regulatory landscape.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental health, chemistry, or related field preferred.
  • 10 or more years of experience managing product compliance programs; retail and/or furniture industry experience preferred.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Proven ability to manage regulatory compliance and interpret complex procedures and regulations.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of timely results.
  • Excellent collaboration skills across various business areas.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
