About the position

The Product Delivery - Forecast to Report - Application Analyst position at Southern Company is a critical role that provides day-to-day end-user business support for Oracle Planning, specifically in the areas of financial planning and budgeting across all subsidiaries of the company. This position is responsible for ensuring the stable and efficient operation of essential enterprise applications by troubleshooting issues, optimizing system performance, and supporting end users. The analyst will work closely with various stakeholders, including end-users and business process managers, to understand their requirements and provide timely solutions. In this role, the analyst will be tasked with providing solution support, which includes configuration, unit testing, and access management setup for Oracle EPM Planning solutions. The individual will analyze and resolve system defects to maintain system stability, accuracy, and data integrity. Additionally, the analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement system upgrades, enhancements, and integrations, while also developing and maintaining user documentation and training materials. Staying informed about the latest features and functionalities of Oracle EPM Planning is essential, as is providing recommendations for process improvements and optimizations. The analyst will also mentor and support entry-level members of the support team, fostering a collaborative and team-oriented environment. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide solution support including configuration, unit testing, controls execution, and access management setup for Oracle EPM Planning solutions.
  • Collaborate with end-users to understand their requirements, troubleshoot issues, and provide guidance on system functionalities.
  • Analyze and resolve system defects to ensure system stability, accuracy, and data integrity.
  • Optimize system performance by identifying and implementing enhancements and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement system upgrades, enhancements, and integrations.
  • Develop and maintain user documentation, training materials, and knowledge base articles.
  • Stay informed about the latest features and functionalities of Oracle EPM Planning.
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements and optimizations.
  • Act as an effective liaison between end-users, business process managers, and the technology organization for application support and user support.
  • Mentor and support entry-level members of the support team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3+ years' experience in application support and troubleshooting, with a focus on Oracle EPM Planning.
  • Working knowledge and expertise in Oracle EPM Planning.
  • Strong understanding of strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting business processes.
  • Working knowledge in SQL for data analysis, reporting, and troubleshooting purposes.
  • Experience with system integrations and working knowledge of integration/middleware tools and technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills proven by experience in troubleshooting system issues and performing root cause analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant certifications in Oracle EPM Planning.
  • Familiarity with Accounting, Finance, and Treasury financial application systems and processes.
  • Familiarity with other Enterprise Foundations/Oracle Cloud modules and/or business processes.
