The Product Design Drafter position is a full-time role based in Watertown, SD, where the primary responsibility is to bring customer information to life by creating detailed models for manufacturing purposes. This involves utilizing both 2D and 3D computer-aided design (CAD) software to develop designs for new and existing products. The drafter will be expected to draft fully detailed multi-view shop drawings based on sketches and order information provided by customers, ensuring that all designs adhere to established Drafting and Engineering Standards. In this role, maintaining an organized file system for production drawings is crucial, as is effective communication with sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams regarding new and revised prints. The drafter will review drawings for completeness and accuracy, maintain revisions of project drawings, and provide timely technical assistance and solutions to the team. Participation in project meetings is also required, along with the flexibility to take on other duties as assigned. This position requires a solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering terminology, making it essential for candidates to have relevant experience and education in the field.
