About The Position

The Chassis Design Engineer at Molex will be responsible for the design and development of electrical chassis structures and mechanisms, contributing from concept to production. This role involves creating models and drawings, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in mechanical design of mechanisms and structures
• Experience with FEA
• Tolerance analysis
• Experience with material selection
• Experience with CAD tools
• Experience with Geometric dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)

Nice To Haves

• Possess good knowledge in Manufacturing, Fabrication and Plastic, sheet metal and diecast components.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the design and development of chassis structures for electromechanical products and connectors.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, PCB designers, Sourcing, and manufacturing engineers.
• Perform detailed analysis and evaluation of product designs using tools such as Kinematic Studies, DFM, NUUD, and TA.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential design limitations and propose effective solutions.
• Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and analyses to validate design concepts and optimize product performance.
• Conduct thorough testing and validation of prototypes, analyzing test data and implementing design improvements as necessary.
• Follow NPI and PDP process to develop and implement new products per industry standards.
