About the position

As a Design Architect on Meta's Reality Labs Product Design Engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of consumer electronics within the Augmented and Virtual Reality industries. Your primary responsibility will be to bring next-generation hardware and experiences to life through innovative design and engineering. You will leverage your creative problem-solving skills and hands-on mechanical design expertise to create products that are not only functional but also delightful and holistically considered. Your experience in designing, engineering, and shipping consumer products will be crucial as you collaborate with cross-discipline teams to develop 'magical' concepts and prototypes that align with Meta's grand vision for AR devices. In this role, you will work closely with the Industrial Design team to create integrated mechanical and design solutions. You will be expected to drive rapid mechanical design iteration, exploring and evolving product solutions that are elegant and intuitive. Your ability to push the boundaries of physical technology integration and manufacturing processes will be essential in addressing complex ergonomic challenges. You will bring a creative and pragmatic mindset to technical problems, helping the team to devise innovative yet feasible solutions. Collaboration will be key, as you will partner with other internal teams and external partners to align project intent and rapidly advance initiatives. Your deep mechanical aptitude and expertise in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) will enable you to transform ambitious ideas into actionable plans. You will be responsible for moving quickly between high-level experience concepts and detailed functional prototypes, informing product decisions and helping teams achieve the seemingly impossible. This position may require international travel, reflecting the global nature of the projects you will be involved in.
