About the position

The Product Design Engineer III will provide design support for iPad products, focusing on mechanical design and collaboration with various teams to optimize product functionality and manufacturability. This role requires a blend of creativity, technical knowledge, and communication skills to effectively convey design ideas and solve complex engineering problems.

Responsibilities

• Provide design support for iPad products using 2D and 3D CAD.
• Develop deep technical knowledge in areas outside your expertise to understand design constraints.
• Collaborate with outside vendors and internal manufacturing experts to optimize designs.
• Conduct tolerance and stress analysis, electro-mechanical integration, and design for manufacturability.
• Engage in prototyping, failure analysis, simple fixture design, and metrology.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of Mechanical Design industry experience.
• 3D CAD experience with any program; 2D drafting and GD&T is a plus.
• Experience in the design cycle from concept through manufacturing is a plus.
• Experience designing mechanical components for mass production, specifically molded, formed, and machined parts.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with MacOS and iOS.
• Strong communication skills: written, visual, and verbal.
