About the position

The Design Manager at TJX will play a crucial role in supporting product development by managing a team of Senior Designers. This position requires a strong aesthetic sense, design skills, and the ability to navigate a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple projects. The Design Manager will collaborate with management and product development teams to align priorities and drive innovative product designs across various categories.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Management and Product Development to problem solve and align priorities.
• Manage a team of in-house Senior Designers, navigating priorities and workloads for multiple product categories.
• Lead Senior Designers in planning, developing, and creating trend-right artwork and layouts for specified product programs.
• Support Senior Designers in creating cohesive design assortments while following department processes and aligning with business strategy.
• Maintain a high level of aesthetic judgment and stay updated on market trends.
• Support the team by maintaining a positive work experience and prioritizing talent development.

Requirements

• Previous management experience, preferably leading a creative team.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of design experience.
• Ability to prioritize workload for others while handling multiple projects.
• Experience planning design assortments and visualizing product concepts.
• Strong color sense and ability to interpret conceptual design ideas.
• Experience creating repeating patterns and dynamic layouts on products.
• Strong people skills and ability to collaborate with internal partners.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through skills.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Experience in product development, particularly in home categories.
