About the position

The Product Design Manager is responsible for overseeing the execution of product design for licensed Disney and Pixar trading card products, from concept through production. This role involves collaboration with internal teams and external licensees to create high-quality, consumer-focused products that align with brand values and financial goals. The position requires a deep understanding of Disney and Pixar stories and characters, and it emphasizes creativity, project management, and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with licensees to develop product assortments for collectible trading card fans.
• Drive creative direction and character selection in partnership with licensee product teams.
• Build relationships with key partners within The Walt Disney Company to secure unique assets for product lines.
• Manage product and packaging approvals, ensuring high quality standards and profitability.
• Work with internal and external partners to enhance product offerings and secure necessary approvals.
• Monitor competitors and market dynamics within collectible categories.
• Assist in onboarding new licensees regarding processes and resources for product development.
• Multi-task and prioritize multiple design projects with varying complexities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Product Design.
• Strong graphic and layout skills with an artistic eye for composition and color.
• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as Microsoft Office.
• Understanding of Disney/Pixar brands and characters.
• Knowledge of trading card and collectible categories.
• Solid understanding of hardlines categories including raw materials and manufacturing processes.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities.
