About the position

The Product Design Manager will lead and develop a high-performing team of product designers embedded in agile crews focused on growth initiatives. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineers, marketing, and sales, to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery of designs. The manager will promote a culture of ownership, experimentation, and continuous learning within the design team, while also ensuring high-quality, user-centric solutions are met within sprint deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of product designers.
  • Promote a sense of ownership and continuous learning among designers.
  • Establish a culture of experimentation within the design team and the broader product engineering organization.
  • Coach designers to balance speed with quality to support high-velocity, outcome-focused agile crews.
  • Work closely with product and engineering partners to ensure crews adopt rapid prototyping and quick iteration cycles with customers.
  • Lead efforts to create scalable experimentation frameworks, including A/B testing and multivariate testing.
  • Participate in design critiques and provide actionable feedback for improving design outputs and iteration cycles.
  • Ensure designers meet sprint deadlines with high-quality, user-centric solutions.
  • Implement sustainable design practices, including templates, guidance, and documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, HCI, or related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • 2-5 years of experience managing/mentoring UX and/or product designers.
  • Hands-on experience designing MVPs, prototypes, wireframes, and rapid iterations.
  • Track record of using data to guide design decisions and iterating based on insights.
  • Operational experience with optimizing workflows and/or managing design tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative environment.
  • Experience working cross-departmentally with Product Management, Engineering, data teams, and Human Resources.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or Figma.
