The Product Designer for Battery Systems will be responsible for performing detailing and specification stages of engineering projects, which includes computer-aided design operations, layout work, and calculations. This role requires close collaboration with engineers to understand functionalities, specifications, and design requirements, ensuring that comprehensive design solutions are produced in both 2-dimensional design/surface modeling and 3-dimensional design/solid modeling. The designer will be tasked with producing working designs from engineering specifications of mechanical mechanisms, electrical systems, structures, and more. Key features must be calculated and defined to meet required functional specifications, and the designer will also be responsible for producing tools or parts lists and maintaining work documentation and records as appropriate. This position is crucial in advancing how the world moves by contributing to innovative solutions in battery systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailing and specification stages of engineering projects including computer-aided design operations, layout work, and calculations.
• Liaise with engineers to understand functionalities, specifications, and design requirements.
• Produce comprehensive design solutions in 2-dimensional design/surface modeling or 3-dimensional design/solid modeling.
• Produce working designs from engineering specifications of mechanical mechanisms, electrical systems, structures, etc.
• Calculate and define key features to meet required functional specifications.
• Produce tools or parts list and maintain work documentation and records as appropriate.

Requirements

• Associates degree in an engineering discipline and one year of 3-dimensional computer-aided design experience.
• Experienced in PTC Creo (2 Dimensional and 3 Dimensional).
• Experienced in drawing checking.
• Knowledge in technical drawing standards.
• Communication ability (written & verbal).
