About the position

The AppleCare Digital Team is seeking a Product Designer with expertise in design systems to enhance and scale design standards across web and native applications. This role focuses on creating elegant solutions for complex problems, ensuring a seamless user experience for customers seeking support. The designer will contribute to the design process from ideation to documentation, advising stakeholders on design patterns and championing updates to design frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Help scale design within AppleCare experiences.
• Contribute to design system from ideation and research to creation of artifacts and published documentation.
• Advise stakeholders on common design patterns and champion new changes to design guidance and frameworks.
• Create, iterate, and refine design system components, including flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in building design systems.
• Strong portfolio showcasing design thinking and work.
• Proficiency in using Sketch, Figma, Photoshop, Keynote, and similar tools.
• Flexibility and comfort with ambiguity and change.
• BA/BS or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in leading strategy and decision making for design systems.
• Mentor and support other designers and cross-functional members on standard design patterns and decisions.
• Navigate an agile work environment and perform key tasks within sprints.
• Competent with known accessibility standards.
• Familiarity with visual design and illustration skills.
