About the position

As a Product Designer for the Global Music Design team at ByteDance, you will play a pivotal role in crafting authentic product experiences that resonate deeply with users. The team is dedicated to enhancing user engagement through innovative music discovery features, ensuring that our products not only meet but exceed user expectations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and engineering, to define requirements and support the development and design of product features. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire product lifecycle, from conception to launch, where you will define metrics and KPIs to measure the success and effectiveness of the product by monitoring user experience and feedback. In this role, you will be responsible for designing intuitive user interfaces (UI) and user experiences (UX) that simplify the process of discovering new music, specifically tailored for TikTok users. Your strong portfolio showcasing your product design skills will be essential, as will your proven expertise in Product Design within a consumer-focused tech or media environment, particularly in mobile app design. Exceptional communication skills and proficiency in design tools such as Figma and AIGC tools are crucial for success in this position. You will need to be well-organized, detail-oriented, and capable of planning and delivering on tight deadlines, all while navigating the complexities of product design in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement innovative music discovery features aimed at enhancing user engagement and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, design, and engineering to define requirements and support product feature development and design.
  • Responsible for product creation, design and development and launching.
  • Define metrics and KPIs to measure the success and effectiveness of the product through monitoring user experience and feedback.
  • Design intuitive user interfaces (UI) and user experiences (UX) that simplify the process of discovering new music, specifically tailored for TikTok users.

Requirements

  • A strong portfolio showcasing your product design skills.
  • Proven expertise in Product Design within a consumer-focused tech or media environment, especially in mobile app design.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma and AIGC tools.
  • Well organized, attention to detail and the ability to plan and deliver on tight deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previously worked on music related product design and/or have a strong music industry network.
  • Resilient in handling complex challenges and adaptable in high-ambiguity situations.
  • Deep understanding of product design and have a natural aptitude for translating insights into business results.
