About the position

The Footwear Product Designer II at NIKE, Inc. is responsible for creating innovative designs for Jordan footwear, focusing on both performance and style. This role involves collaborating with various teams to bring seasonal creative directions to life, utilizing consumer insights to develop compelling product solutions, and ensuring high-quality execution of design details from concept to reality.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Jordan Materials, Color, and Development teams to bring seasonal creative direction to life through Footwear Design.
  • Create innovative designs for basketball products under the direction of the Senior Design Director.
  • Utilize consumer insights to develop compelling solutions for athletes, focusing on performance and style.
  • Finalize tech packages and assist Expert Designers and the Senior Design Director in creating new hoops shoes.
  • Follow the execution of all product details, including construction, color, form, style, detail, fit performance, and cost/value requirements.
  • Review all samples and communicate necessary changes clearly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience designing and developing innovative footwear and other products.
  • Ability to translate consumer knowledge and insights into product solutions and narratives.
  • Strong skills in Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Ability to build accurate 2D technical drawings (tech packs).
  • Cobbling and prototyping skills are a plus.
  • Experience with 3D design programs is a plus.
  • Strong sketching, illustration, and rendering skills.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Ability to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for each project.
