About the position

We're looking for a Product Designer II to work on some of our most integral products at Datadog such as APM, DBM, etc which provide visibility into customers applications, enabling them to identify performance bottlenecks, troubleshoot issues, and optimize their services. You'll work within the product design team and collaborate with other designers to solve mission critical problems, owning the communication of your ideas and design decisions across the team. Responsibilities

  • Act as an end-to-end product designer who can turn insights from user research into concepts, sketch and prototype and see your product through to production.
  • Collaborate with product managers, and engineers throughout the design process to ensure we build the right product for our customers to succeed.
  • Work with other Designers to create a cohesive design language and contribute to the overall design vision.
  • Communicate your design work and the support for your design decisions internally to your product team and the whole company.
  • Develop the expertise in your product area, learning from and collaborating with designers on the team.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in digital product design
  • Proven track record of shipping interaction design work in web applications
  • Excellent visual and written communicator, able to clearly communicate design work and the support for design decisions
  • Experience with advanced prototyping tools (e.g. Principle, Framer, Sketch, Figma, InVision)
  • Understanding of systems thinking and component-based design patterns
  • Ability to give and receive feedback well, supporting and improving the work of colleagues as well as your own.
