About the position

As a Product Designer II, you will join our Wealth and Investments team, where you will work on tools utilized by our investment advisors in the field. This role is pivotal in modernizing and enhancing tools to facilitate end-to-end client servicing. You will be part of a dedicated team of designers, product managers, and engineers, focusing on understanding the user and advocating for their perspective throughout the design process. Your primary duties will include analyzing complex problems and systematically thinking through design challenges. You will work under the guidance of a more senior UX designer while still having ownership over your own work. Following an iterative design process, you will wireframe, prototype, and validate design ideas, ensuring that your work adheres to UX best practices and internal guidelines while also bringing fresh ideas to the table. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with other designers, product owners, and technologists. You will contribute to the larger design team through research, presentations, and internal projects, ensuring that the user’s perspective is communicated effectively throughout the design process. This position is ideal for someone who is a self-starter, user-focused, detail-oriented, and solutions-oriented, with a passion for understanding the user and a strong ability to communicate their needs.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze tough problems and think through design challenges in a systematic way.
  • Work under the guidance of a more senior UX designer while having ownership over your own work.

  • Produce work that follows UX best practices and internal guidelines, while also bringing fresh ideas to the table.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience working in a design practice.
  • Experience completing most UX deliverables.
  • Basic knowledge of user-centered design, visual design, brand development, and product assembly.
  • Strong communication skills to advocate for the user's perspective throughout the design process.
  • Experience with Figma, Mural, and other whiteboarding tools.
  • A strong online portfolio available for viewing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with user research methodologies.
  • Familiarity with agile development processes.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards in design.
